To protect and preserve the architectural integrity, history, natural beauty and serenity of the Motor Mill site and its surroundings and to develop appropriate uses and interpretation as a regional treasure for the benefit of future generations.

2018 Motor Mill Open Weekends – Stories in Stone

Guided tours will be offered each Saturday and Sunday afternoon from noon-5 p.m., May 26th-October 14th. Tour includes the historic 1860’s mill, related buildings, and town site. Group tours available by appointment. Open Weekends: Memorial Day Weekend through the second weekend in October from Noon-5 p.m.

LIMITED OFFER During the month of March 2018, local photographer Josh Funk will donate half the proceeds of every photo sold to the Motor Mill Fundraiser! This offer ends 3/31/2018.

Welcome to a series of posts on the history of the Motor Mill community!  These posts will supplement the timeline available on the “Learn the History” link.   We will start with the birth dates of the co-owners of the Mill: *January 20 1804 – John Thompson (future buyer of Mill land with Timothy Davis) *July 29 1825 – Jotham Pratt Dickinson (buys part of Motor land from Davis, including sawmill) * March 22 1828 – James O Crosby (future Garnavillo attorney).
